Sydney Metro - Segregation Fence
The segregation fencing forms a critical component of the Sydney Metro City & Southwest project, specifically within the Sydenham to Bankstown corridor. This initiative is part of a broader effort to upgrade the existing T3 Bankstown Line to metro standards, facilitating the introduction of a new driverless metro service
Certus Projects was awarded a contract to undertake these upgrades. A key aspect of this contract involves the installation of approximately 3.8 kilometres of segregation fencing and 2.2 kilometres of security fence. This fencing serves to physically separate the existing freight lines from the new driverless metro tracks, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of both services within the shared corridor.
These comprehensive upgrades aim to modernize the 125-year-old Bankstown Line, improving safety, reliability, and capacity for Sydney's growing public transport needs.
