Barker St Carpark Upgrade
The University of New South Wales (UNSW) Barker Street carpark, located on the Kensington campus, was constructed in the 1970s. It has undergone several upgrades since then to accommodate the growing needs of students, staff, and visitors.
Certus Projects played a key role in a major recent upgrade of the multistorey facility. The project aims to enhance parking capacity, improve lighting, signage, and safety usability. Over 4337m2 of asphalt was used to reconstruct surface finishes and add approximately 520 additional parking spaces.
This parking enhancement is part of UNSW's broader initiative to create a more integrated and accessible campus environment, balancing the needs for transportation, housing, and community spaces.
Key Features:
-
The project was delivered on time, despite a demanding schedule and tight timelines over the Christmas holidays
-
Successful interface with Renascent, UNSW and stakeholders
